Note the tram lines in front. The tram went to & from the City via Lansdowne Crescent
& Hill Street to the lower end of Mellifont Street, West Hobart. The shop, on the cnr. of
Hill & Pine Streets has now been replaced by a modern pharmacy. Because of another
Murdoch's business (WM Murdoch) in the City, William M. (aka 'Bill') couldn't have the sign
on his store in that name, so the shop was signboarded
MUNRO MURDOCH - Crescent Emporium.
